K-ravings Satisfied!

If you’re like me who got hooked on K-dramas (Korean shows), you’re probably familiar with this dish, jjajangmyeon. They’re noodles topped with black bean sauce mixed with protein and veggies. The other day my husband got this for me from Kangnam Chef in H-Mart to cheer me up after being on a strict elimination diet for 2 weeks.

Just a couple of bites melted my #fomovibes away 🥰 It had the right amount of salt, sweet, umami, and sauce to noodle ratio.

I wish I could scarf down this entire plate but all I could think of was my gut telling me to take it easy. Oh well, craving satisfied. Now I never have to wonder every time I see it on TV.

이 맛있어요 🥢❤️😋

➡️ Gut check:

Not something I would eat during a flare; and maybe I’ll only have half a serving during remission. It is however possible to make a GF, vegan version of this dish and substitute the sauce ingredients for gut-friendlier alternatives. Now that I know how it tastes like it’ll be easier to replicate!

Based on what I ordered, this is:

AIP ❌

SCD ❌

FODMAP ❌

Despite the ❌’s it’s Ahjumma-approved! If you don’t have gut-issues it’s worth trying! 😋
